With 'Fervor', her Autumn/Winter 2025 haute couture collection, Juana Martín interprets that intimate aspect of Andalusian life that unites the community.
About 'Fervor', Autumn/Winter 2025 Collection: Concept And Inspiration
The audience at Paris Haute Couture Week attended a solemn Holy Week procession: devotion and passion on the catwalk.
For her seventh haute couture collection, Juana Martín draws inspiration from one of the most deeply rooted traditions in Andalusia: religious fervour. She interprets it as a collective expression of faith with a strong cultural identity within Andalusian society.
About The Collection: Sartorial Touches
Petal showers, sacred images, and candlelit processions are the main inspirations for a collection immersed in black ruán, a specific deep black fabric used for the creation of the “nazarenos” or “penitents”, recognisable by their long robes and tall pointed hoods. The various representations of Christ and the Virgin, and especially their adornments, also play an important role in the creation of 'Fervor'. The designer remains faithful to her signature black and white palette, elevated by striking jewellery and unconventional materials for a couture collection.
Juana Martín continues to make history as the only Spanish woman ever granted access to this institution, preceded only by Balenciaga and Rabanne. A milestone in Spanish fashion history, recognised this year with the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts.
Her loyal team, Rafael Maqueda and Menchu Benítez, joined her in the artistic direction of hair and makeup, with participation from ICON and its high-end product line. Francesca Bellavita completed the collection with her artisanal, Italian-made footwear.
Málaga de Moda continues to support Andalusian craftsmanship, while Cordoban giant Plenitas once again supports the designer, promoting Andalusian talent.
